Corporate Social Responsibility...

or CSR. It's one of those bits of 'business speak' that can mean a little or a lot! To us it means putting aside a bit of time and doing what we can to support our local and wider community.

Offering our free 'Ask an Adviser' service is an example of how we aim to contribute to the business community on a non fee earning basis. Users of the service have told us they think it's great, it only takes up a small amount of our time and it's something we feel good about - so everyone's a winner!

We have also chosen to actively support two of our favourite charities in small, but hopefully useful ways. We think they benefit from the support we give them but we also know that our business benefits too! We'd like to introduce them to you...

Our main charity is The Heart of Kent Hospice, based in Aylesford. The Hospice is a registered charity specialising in palliative care for residents of our local communities across Kent. It costs around £3m a year to provide that care but the Hospice has to raise £2.2m of that itself.

They do this via a range of fundraising events throughout the year. Many of these events offer a great way for businesses to get their staff working together as a team, enjoying the benefits of doing so whilst really helping a fantastic cause.

For those businesses that don't have so many staff there are lots of events for individuals to get involved with as well as lots of pure sponsorship opportunities.

We also support Make a Wish Foundation^®UK (Charity Registration Nos. 295672/SC037479)- a terrific charity which aims to grant wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
